The stunning Tsum Valley is one of the most isolated and remote Himalayan valleys, located east of the Manaslu Circuit Trek, near the Tibetan border. It was first opened to trekkers in 2008 and still very few have made it to this high and mysterious valley.
The first part of the route ascends along the Budhi Gandaki River on the same path as the Manaslu Circuit through a mix of dense forests, terraced fields and hill villages.
As you leave the main trail, you’ll get a strong feeling of entering a hidden valley, taking you into the majestic surroundings of the Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal, and Boudha Himal ranges, alpine forests, glacial rivers and ancient gompas.
This region was once part of Tibet and the people of the Tsum Valley, the Tsumbas, have a very unique Tibetan-influenced way of life, language and religion, all of which you will experience.
This trek can be connected to the Manaslu Circuit Trek if you have more time.
Time spent exploring timeless Kathmandu before and after the trek completes your adventure with insights into Nepali culture and traditions.
