Trip Overview

This amazing tour will allow you to visit Nepal and discover all its treasures together with a professional yoga and meditation teacher, the amazing Yoga & Shiatsu with Danka.

Every day, you will practice yoga for 1.5h and meditate for 1.5h, with each day being a learning experience.

You will visit some of the most beautiful and significant places of the capital Kathmandu, unwind in the beautiful nature of Shivapuri National Park and admire the mighty Himalayas in Pokhara. You’ll also feel the special energy of the birth place of Lord Buddha in Lumbini and spot endanger wildlife such as rhinos and tigers  in the lush Chitwan National Park.

About the teacher:

Danka is an experienced yoga teacher, who has been an Ashtanga Yoga student of the famous Indian teacher Vijay Kumar in Mysore, Eileen Hall and the great and authentic Matthew Sweeney for over 10 years. She is known for her holistic way of teaching and love to experience how yoga serves people at all stages of life. She is also an experienced Shiatsu and Ayurvedic yoga massage therapist, which complements her yoga teaching & practice very well.

A little more about her:

Danka discovered Yoga in her late twenties, searching for meaning in her life, and seeking freedom from everyday suffering and found an answer in Yoga.

Throughout many years of practice and constant study in Europe, India and Australia, she had the opportunity to meet and study with many of the world’s most famous Yoga Teachers, including her long-standing Teacher Vijay Kumar in Mysore, Eileen Hall in Australia and Matthew Sweeney.

In 2008 she opened her own Center, one of the first Centers of its kind in Slovakia, where she offered various styles of Yoga, including Ashtanga Yoga.

Today Danka teaches internationally and leads Workshops and Retreats in various places around the world. She is an advanced student of Ashtanga Yoga, but she is constantly learning and expanding her education in many other spiritual areas as well.

From September 2018 she teaches Ashtanga Yoga at the Ashtanga Yoga Loft and offers Shiatsu Treatments/Massages, what she has been studying for several years with many other Massage and Therapeutic Techniques.

Day 1 :
Arrival in Kathmandu

Welcome to Nepal. Your exciting journey is starting. Today we will pick you up from the airport in Kathmandu and drive you to the peaceful Budhanilkantha, just 40 minutes from the center of Kathmandu

Overnight in Budhanilkantha.

Day 2 :
Kathmandu valley tour

Today a professional guide will show us the secrets of the amazingly well preserved Patan Durbar Square, a true gem to admire the sophisticated Nepali unique architecture and traditional craftsmanship. We’ll then head to Boudhanath, a giant Buddhist Stupa shaped as a giant manadala. Lunch in Boudhanath. We’ll also visit Pashupatinath Temple in the evening for Araati, the ritual worshipping of Shiva, a truly special moment to witness.

Time for yoga and meditation in the morning and afternoon.

Overnight in Budhanilkantha.

Day 3 :
Shivapuri Forest hike

Day hike in the beautiful Shivapuri National Park. We’ll hike in a lush and dense forest known to Nepalis for its spiritual energy. On our way we will visit the ancient Budhanilkantha Vishnu Temple, Nagi Gumba, a Buddhist Monastery, Baghdwar, the holy source of the Baghmati River. We’ll also meet the Babas living in the dense forest and finally reach the summit, where Mother Nature may gift us with beautiful views of the Himalayas. Shivapuri).

Day 4 :
Fly to Pokhara

Today we’ll catch our scenic 30 minute flight to the beautiful lakeside town of Pokhara, the gateway to the Himalayas.

You’ll be able to enjoy some free time in the afternoon in Pokhara.

Time for yoga and meditation in the morning and evening.

Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 5 :
Pokhara

Today we’ll head up to Sarangkot hilltop to enjoy a breathtaking Himalayan sunrise. We can also visit the World Peace Pagoda (optional) or spend some relaxing time by the lake (boat trip).

Time for yoga and meditation in the morning and evening.

Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 6 :
Drive to Lumbini

Today we’ll drive towards the South and reach Lumbini (6/8 hours). It’s a beautiful drive, which will allow us to see an amazing landscape of hills and valleys and witness some traditional daily life in Nepal.

Time for yoga and meditation in the morning and evening.

Overnight in Lumbini.

Day 7 :
Lumbini

Today we’ll visit archaeological sites, temples and monasteries in Lumbini, including the birth place of Lord Buddha. Some places date back to almost 2000 years ago and the atmosphere here it’s very special and peaceful.

Time for yoga and meditation in the morning and evening.

Overnight in Lumbini.

Day 8 :
Drive to Chitwan

Today we’ll drive to Chitwan National Park (4/5 hours).

This park is one of the best spot in Asia to spot wildlife, including wild elephants, Bengal tigers, rhinos, crocodiles and many many more.

It’s also the land of the native Tharu people and you will discover their unique culture and lifestyle.

Time for yoga and meditation in the morning and evening.

Overnight in Sauraha.

Day 9 :
Chitwan National Park

Today you’ll enjoy an amazing safari in the park and on the Rapti river.

Time for yoga and meditation in the morning and evening.

Overnight in Sauraha.

Day 10 :
Chitwan National Park

Today you’ll head again in the nature for more chances to spot animals and visit a typical Tharu village.

Time for yoga and meditation in the morning and evening.

Overnight in Sauraha.

Day 11 :
Drive to Kathmandu

Our trip is almost over and sadly today we’ll drive back to Kathmandu (6/7 hours).

Tonight you will stay in the tourist hub of Kathmandu, the lively Thamel, where you can spend a fun night exploring the busy streets or do some souvenir shopping.

Day 12 :
Departure

Today we will drop you to the airport  three hours before your flight.
