Trip Overview

The Manaslu Trek is one of the most spectacular treks in the Himalayas.

This trekking route skirts the Manaslu massif over the pass down to Annapurna, following an ancient salt-trading route along the Budhi Gandaki River. The trail passes through subtropical jungles, the Himalayan foothills and continues parallel to the Tibetan border, with sensational views of Manaslu North, Ngadi and Himalchuli peaks up to the alpine environment at Larkya La Pass at 5160m (16930ft). Then it descends to the Marsyangdi Valley with fantastic views of Himlung Himal, the Annapurna range and other peaks.

It features all the aspects of a classic Himalayan trek: epic scenery, spectacular suspension bridges, high Himalayan pass crossings, deep gorges, incredible mountain views, glaciers, Tibetan culture and wild fauna encounters.

This route is far less crowded than other classic treks in Nepal and, despite its increasing popularity, it is still off the beaten path.

It can be connected to the Annapurna Circuit Trek in Dharapani or to the Tsum Valley Trek, a highly recommended option if you have more time.

Time spent exploring timeless Kathmandu before and after the trek completes your adventure with insights into Nepali culture and traditions.
