This off-the-beaten-path trek will lead you to Khopra Danda viewpoint, a great panoramic point of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri region.
The route follows the same trail up to Ghorepani (Poon Hill), but then leaves it and takes you down, along a more remote path, into a valley to the beautiful village of Swanta, before climbing back up again to a ridge (Khopra Danda) north of Poon Hill.
Atop the ridge, the views are superb: Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fang, Nilgiri, Manaslu and many other peaks.
The way down to the beautiful village of Paudwar, on the edge of the ridge, is a truly spectacular and panoramic stretch.
This trek will also allow you to experience the local life of the Gurung and Magar people, enjoy scenic views of lush green hill, small villages, rice paddies and wildlife.
It is also a great sustainable trek as you will spend some nights at community lodges, whose ownership belongs to a village rather than individuals with profits contributing to community projects such as funding local schools.
From Khopra Danda, you can add an extra day to hike to Khayer Lake, a sacred lake at rear of Annapurna South.
Sorry, we don’t have any scheduled group departure for this trip. Why not book it as a private tour?
