Trip Overview

If you are looking for a short, accessible yet unspoiled trek, then the Helambu Circuit is a great option. Despite being just an hour drive from Kathmandu, the Helambu area remains relatively isolated and intact.

It is an extremely diverse trek: from panoramic mountain views to rice terraces, beautiful villages, splendid monasteries, majestic waterfalls and the simplicity of the lifestyle of the local Hyolmo people, this trek will not leave you unsatisfied.

The Helambu Trek, ranging from 800m (2600ft) to 3600m (11800ft), is a lower altitude and comparatively easy trek, thus recommended for families and anyone else who prefers a short, pleasant trek to a long, strenuous hike.

In spite of the fact that you don’t go too high, the views of Gauri Shanker (7134m/23405ft), Langtang Lirung (7246m/23772ft), Ganesh Himal (7405m/24294ft) and many other summits are incredibly impressive.

Time spent exploring timeless Kathmandu before and after the trek completes your adventure with insights into Nepali culture and traditions.
